Carey Macaleer is a classically trained dancer and Pilates instructor from New York City. Her passion for helping clients improve their bodies and lives through Pilates has helped her establish an extensive and diverse international clientele that includes men, women, seniors, teenagers, expectant and new moms, as well as celebrities and professional athletes. In addition to teaching in New York for 12 years, as an expat she taught in Hong Kong and most recently London.

Carey discovered Pilates at the age of 12 as part of her dance training and has been teaching Pilates for over 15 years. She received her training from Core Pilates in New York. Prior to teaching Pilates, she was a professional dancer with multiple modern dance companies. She has also applied her skills teaching Pilates and dance/movement to other disciplines such as American Olympic figure skating and collegiate-level lacrosse programs.

Carey’s teaching style is deep in knowledge and creativity and always provides a hardcore workout. Most recently she has developed her signature class “The Wellness Hour” and “Kids Roll” classes. She is passionate about bringing Pilates to a wider audience and helping them integrate its principles into their every day lives. She is a newly certified MELT® Hand and Foot instructor. Carey is very excited to be bringing this into A•line studio as an additional class. Melt and Scoop!

Carey has been featured in Pilates Style Magazine and is a member of the Pilates Method Alliance.



Lindsay Chapman is a southern transplant to the Carroll Gardens section of Brooklyn where she lives with her husband, three young children and lab Dooley.

Lindsay discovered pilates following the birth of her third child and has been enthusiastically pursuing the practice since. She is one of the first graduates of a•line's own training program having completed the mat certification led by Carey in April of 2016.
